Purchased this in spite of no previous reviews and wish I had not. The unit arrived poorly boxed; very loose in the box, no padding, the box was barely taped together and fortunately it did arrive undamaged. I removed the old cat and went to install the new one; the rear flange was mis-drilled and I had to spend an hour with a 1/2" drill and the unit mounted in my big vise, rounding out the holes enough to get the bolts to line up for the install. It was a pain. I installed the Cat after repeated P0420 codes in my vehicle. This cat did not solve the problem. Still getting the P0420 code so I have ordered a downstream O2 sensor that goes into the cat and hopefully THAT will solve the problem. I cannot say whether the cat is working properly or not; I assume it is, and that was not the original problem. My old cat LOOKED good when I removed it (not plugged, rusted, etc) but I am no expert on what a good cat looks like. In any event, I would shop for another cat with better manufacturing tolerances. On the plus side, this cat was the correct length and other than the issues with the mis-drilled flange, it installed OK. It does not have the flange for the heat shield that the factory cat has, but no big deal. Also, this cat comes with some big white paper stickers attached to it. I didn't give them a thought and installed the cat with the papers on. Bad idea on my part; should have removed them with some carb and choke or other solvent. They burned and made a bad smell, smoked a little, but fortunately did not burn my car to the ground. As I said, that was an oversight on MY part. Hopefully the combination of this new cat and a new O2 sensor will clear the code before I am due for smog in a couple months.

I installed this product because I was getting error code P0420 when my check engine light came on. I bought this part to replace my old catalytic converter so that I could pass my emissions test. I'm still getting the same code. This part is useless and you can only get $5 from a scrap metal buyer for it.
