- Chas: PC018640-, Our radiator suppliers advise that a leaking head gasket on the engine used in this application may cause excessive pressure in the cooling system, leading to early radiator failure. If radiator shows signs of a blown tank-to-core gasket (plastic tank radiators), a split seam or solder joint (metal tank radiators), or the tanks show signs of cracking or "ballooning", the overall condition of the engine (ESPECIALLY the head gaskets) should be checked BEFORE a replacement radiator is installed.

Due to the design of the A/C suction pipe that runs parallel with top tank of the radiator, a few customers have reported clearance problems between this pipe and the top radiator tank. Our radiator suppliers advise that this problem may occur on some vehicles with high mileage and/or collision damage. If interference between the pipe and radiator is encountered, the technician should insure that the A/C suction pipe is tied back securely to the bulkhead to alleviate this problem.
