In my case, the installation was fiarly simple because I only needed to replace the mirror head and the support arm. As far as I can tell, replacing the mount requires removing the inside door panel -- a real pain. Because the replacements were a perfect match for the originals, I could still use the original mounting bases. Just needed a small torx driver to remove the plastic cover on the base, and a phillips-screwdriver to loosen the arm clamp.
