Common logic says to simply unscrew / unsnap the old and screw in or snap in the new. Unfortunately the old tail light wiring plug was secured by a small clip that was extremely difficult to remove (hard to see how it was held in place). Once that problem was overcome replacing the old light with the new one was no problem at all and everything works well.
