Looks good, but plastic softens in the sun! by Blues 2, May 1, 2012

Salesman was very helpful in finding the specific size scoop I was looking for. My application uses the scoop mounted with the grill/inlet toward the back of the hood. A word of caution: The plastic type hood scoops will soften in the sun! If you are just going to use the self-stick tape and leave the gap, the softening of the scoop is not as much of an issue. If you want it bonded to the hood for a custom look, it will require extensive work. It can not be just bonded as the plastic will separate from the bond. Careful attachment on edges with rivets and Fiberglas resin. Then Fiberglas with cloth over the edges covering the rivets, and coating the entire scoop in the resin to create a firm inseparable bond to the hood. A lot of sanding and fill until finish has an even taper all around to the metal hood, then prime, recheck for imperfections, repair as needed then paint. It is a lot of work but worth the effort for a professional looking job. Not for the faint of heart, pro install by a good body shop very expensive, but only correct way to do it right if you have no body work experience. Will post photo when completed.
