I recently bought my truck used to find that none of the 4 door locks worked. I inquired at the local repair shop (not even Ford dealer) about how much it would be to repair all door locks. They said it would be $150 per door PLUS tax! Thats $600 before tax! For that price I would just go old school and not have power locks. I started to do research online and found these. For the price I paid for them I saved about $550 or 90% off. Once I got the door locks the trouble became installing them. There are several excellent youtube videos I highly suggest watching before attempting that explain the process very well. The first lock took me the longest about 45 minutes but by the time Id got to the last door I was done in less than 10. If you need to replace your locks these are definitely the way to go as long as you have an intermediate skill level with a wrench.

Front door lock actuators on the Ford Windstar have a limited life, this is the second that had failed so instead of going to the delaer I did it myself. Not too hard when you know how but some persistance is required the first time. This was direct replacement on 2001 Ford Windstar LX, works as the original.
