One of the rods that run to the latches from the handle was not attached. I had to unscrew the ends and handle portion to get to the unatached rod and then rehook it and secure the rod to stay in place. Once I did this it worked fine.

I was skeptical when I purchased the tailgate that all of the components would be present. I was pleasantly surprised. The biggest part of the job was unpacking the new tailgate. Removing the old one was easy it was held on by a rope! The new one dropped into the hinge sockets and the cables clipped in and I closed the tailgate. All of ten minutes!

The part was a drop in, but latches were not quite aligned properly. Only would close with the anti-rattler bumpers removed.
