The new cylinder slides into place without issue. The headache with the install is the removal of the steering wheel to take off the old faulty cylinder. Rent a steering wheel puller, and steering ring presser from your local auto parts store, it will make things much easier. Also, lay out all the small parts carefully to make reattachment easy. I have to jiggle the key a bit when taking it out of the cylinder, but I assume that is the issue with a generic key. A minor issue of no consequence. My original cylinder would not remove the key and was stuck with the car running. I have been happily driving since I purchased this part.
