Wilhelm Schafer founded Eastern Manufacturing in 1976 as a supplier of rebuilt catalytic converters to his own Schafer Muffler Centers and S.M.S. Products. The company quickly grew to become a supplier of new, universal, and direct-fit converters. Now headquartered in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, we’ve continually expanded our capabilities in the US and internationally through establishment of manufacturing facilities in Prodesa, Mexico.   • Pros: perfect fit, low backpressure
  "This thing went on without any problems. Aftermarket converters usually don't quite fit, requiring heat, mechanical distortion, sometimes grinding. None of that, it goes on better than an OE cat. Seems to flow more freely than the old one, too."
