Brass nuts given to hook up manifold to exhaust will not stay tight. Keep your old ones and use them

With minimal modification (grinding) on the heat shield, the installation was very straight foward. I was dissapointed in receiving only one of two gaskets for the manifold to exhaust pipe, so I was forced to buy two locally which added another $9.00 to the overall price.

I searched the internet for a bit and found this to be most common manifold. I had read one review that had mentioned that the kit came missing one of the manifold to converter seals. I mentioned that specifically when ordering but it still came missing a seal. I don't think that was Dorman's fault. The recess that those rings sit in is a bit ill fitting, but was able to work around it without much problem. The fit of the manifold was perfect and after 5000 miles, no problems. The 200 HP gain is nice too. (just kidding) Would recomend to anyone, or purchase another of their products.

As it turns out this is the second time that I needed one of these exhaust manifolds. I forgot that the first kit I bought a few years ago did not have two gasket rings. This second kit also only had one gasket ring, although the manifold needs two and two are in the photo. I had to order a ring locally delaying my repair by a day. I reused the origional manifold cover as the one that comes with this kit is not as attractive as the OEM. The photo is misleading. The manifold is indeed under the cover that is in the photo. For the photo they should show the manifold beside the cover to show the purchaser that the manifold is included for this great price. I'm not a mechanic, but it only took me 2 hours to replace the manifold.
