looks exactly like the original that came out. my door locks stopped working & thought that i would have to replace both front doors locks. replacing the drivers side did the trick. it works awesome! easier to install than expected. for those wondering you have to remove the window rail & move out of the way. on mine the actuator was held in place by just one screw on the upper-left corner. you dont have to remove the whole door lock mechanism. there is a small hole in the door to slide a smalls screw driver through. once the screw is removed there are plastic tabs that slide it onto & fasten it to the metal bracket.

I purchased this part for our 1999 CR-V. The keyless would mechanically lock and unlock all doors except the drivers. The lock stem would try to move in the proper direction but didnt move between lock and unlock. I didnt know if it was in the mechanical linkage or a weak actuator so I bought this part just to be sure I only had to disassemble the door once. Changing this part involved door disassembly latch mechanism removal removing two screws and forcing the old actuator off the latch mechanism snapping the new actuator into place and turning in two screws. Lubricate the latch mechanism with white lithium grease. Then reassemble the latch to the door and re-assemble the door. About 2 hours of work. This part fit fine and works strongly to move the latch mechanism. It has been working the last couple week just fine. Im glad I didnt spend twice as much at the dealer.

Saved some money by going with an aftermarket replacement. It's not genuine Honda but an exact fit nonetheless. My Prelude driver side door lock made a buzzing sound when engaged which meant I needed to replace the actuator. Installation isn't impossible but not super easy. Was able to find others' experiences online and came across some excerpts from manuals. I installed it a month ago and so far so good- good as new. Glad I didn't pay the dealer ~$400 and I did it myself.
