Had to do the job twice!! Not happy! by bee, September 7, 2011

Replaced factory plenum at about 130k with this due to coolant entering the intake. A small aluminum insert that is supposed to isolate the hot egr exhaust gas entering the plenum did not fit properly and came out. This caused the composite to melt and I had to do the labor all over again 6 months later. I used the acdelco intake kit instead which I believe was significantly higher quality and have put over 30k miles on since with no problems.

Got this intake manefold to my mechanic. He calls me later and tells me the intake is warped and leaking lots of air. Before all this , fedex delivered my package and the box was crushed and was packed horribly. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

3.8L Intake Manifold by keitho64, January 19, 2009

I installed this on a 1996 Oldsmobile 88 with the 3.8L N/A motor. The factory manifold was cracked and leaked anti freeze. I installed this back in the summer of 2008 and it has worked perfectly since then. The installation was very simple and the fit and finish of the replacement matched the factory item. My only issue was the directions for the EGR tube and the PCV installation could have been better. I consulted the factory manual for more details on the correct installation for the PCV/EGR tube.

Great part. Specs. on torque. Instructions. Straight forward install. Common sense. Never replaced on of these before. If you can do your spark plugs you can do this.
