The mirror that I purchased for my Daughters 2003 Grand Am was absolutely the best. I could not find any differences between it and the OEM replacement part from GM! Eexcept of course it was a fraction of the cost! The fit and finish was exact the electrical connection for the remote was very well connected. It even had the right sound deadening foam.

It moves to the left and the right without a hitch. My only complaint is when I installed it and tested the mirror, the mirror goes up when I press down and it goes down when I press up. Now, I know you're probably thinking I installed it wrong, trust me, I checked. This mirror comes with 3 wires and can only be plugged into the door 1 way. If you have OCD, this will majorly bug you. My car has only a few mores years left in it, so I really don't care, it wasn't worth the time to send it back for a new one. It was $29 when I bought it and I guess you get what you pay for.

Everything was perfect with this mirror except that it is wired backwards. I switched 2 wires in the plug and all was good. Only reason I gave it 4 stars not 5.

OK, but not wired right by NEK, August 8, 2009

The mirror is a good copy of the original, no problem there. Mine was not wired right however. The left and right motion correspond correctly to the directions of the adjuster switch on the armrest. But the up and down motion is reversed. Pushing the down arrow on the switch causes the mirror to move up and vise-versa. I confirmed that the colors of the wires on the connector were in the same order as the original so the wiring error must be at the motor. I kept the mirror because I didn't want to take the time to return it. Be warned, the electrical connector for the mirror is just out of reach (and sight) behind the door trim panel. I ended up having to remove the whole trim panel. The shop manual also shows doing this. This makes a fifteen minute job much longer because the door trim fasteners are very aggressive to pry off, correct pry tool is highly recommended.
