Eastern ECO III Series Catalytic Converter

forester threw p420 code and failed emission test. ordered the cat, had it installed for $100 by my mechanic and voila, light off, passed emission test and runs well.

Did not fit my Forester. Overall length was 3/4" shorter than original cat assembly, but more importantly the center support bracket was nearly an inch too far forward to match up to the mount on the car. I was also concerned with the minimal amount of heat shielding, particularly on the forward cat, since the front part of the assembly is directly underneath the transmission. Additionally, while the assembly mates ok to the exhaust manifold, the larger size of the forward flange compared to the manifold flange makes precise alignment trickier than if the outer dimensions were the same and flush. This forward and rear cat assembly is significantly lighter than the original, even with the original's extensive heat shielding removed. As others have said, none of the old heat shielding can be used. I tried. I cannot comment on performance since the center support bracket location was a show stopper for me. 1999 Subaru Forester L 2.5 L, Federal EPA Emissions

Great service! Part bolted right on, no problem. OEM sheilds would not fit, but it came with its' own.
