This review is intended to help the next person that had the same problems that I had. It is only rated 1 star to get your attention and does not reflect AutoPartsWarehouse.com; I give them 5 stars on the whole transaction. I ordered and installed this part as a direct fit for my 2005 Jetta GLS 2.0L (it’s an early model 2005; apparently VW changed mid-year on this car). After installation the pump worked perfectly (or so I thought) until I filled my fuel tank. At that time my car started leaking fuel all over the ground once the tank was full. I pulled the pump out for further investigation and compared it a bit more closely to the original that I had pulled out. At first glance they appeared to be exactly the same which is why I installed it in the first place. But closer examination revealed that the upper flange on the new pump was smaller diameter than the original and does not properly seal (hence the leak during re-fueling). At first I thought that AutoPartsWarehouse.com sent the wrong pump so I went to a local parts store to pick up an OE pump (at almost 3X the cost) and I found that they had the same unit for my vehicle (the smaller flange model). So the problem here lies with VW and not the parts stores. Rather than return the pump for a new one I just disassembled the new pump and used the original flange from the old pump to get things working. So be careful which pump you get and pay particular attention to the flange diameter. Maybe this pump fits some 2005 Jettas but not mine. If you need the larger flange model like I did I found one at AutoPartsWarehouse.com It is part number AFE8705M. Unfortunately it is $357 vs. the $130 for the pump that I bought. So if you want to make it work for less $$ and your sealing flange is in order you can go with this pump and save a few $$. I hope this review helps to save somebody else the hassles that I went through.

loved it! I couldnt believe that it actually works as if it is the same as the original part. why pay top dollar for something that works just as well if not better.
