The circumference of the top of the cylinder housing was to small and would not seal. On my original pump, the plastic housing unit was larger in circumference then this replacement part. It would simply not seal correctly and there for not work! when installed in my 05 jetta GLI so I then proceeded to take out the pump and replace it inside my original fuel pump.
