Headlight Wiper Blade Products

Rain has always been romance's best friend. You know, the lower temperature kind of maximizes the effect of friction. But for your car, rain is trouble pouring down, especially if it hits bare land. Unlike the windshield wipers, the headlight wipers have a murkier surface to wipe. Headlights are often filled with mud, with little and sharp stones stuck in them that can eventually tear the headlight wiper blade. Since it is made of rubber, the headlight wiper blade is easily vulnerable to sharp objects that may come from the mud stuck on your headlights. Either way, you might want to replace the damaged headlight wiper blade fast to keep your headlights shining brightly even in rainy or snow conditions. Replacing a damaged headlight wiper isn't hard anyway, so you won't have any trouble doing it by yourself and not spend money asking for professional help. Most blades are snapped in place, which makes it a lot easier to replace and clean them. If you're planning to take a long ride when it's raining, make sure that your headlight wipers are in perfect condition, else you might lose visibility on the road and meet some accidents along the way. Buying a Replacement for a Headlight Wiper Blade

A windshield wiper is undoubtedly among the top safety features of a vehicle. Yes, those arms that wave in front of you as rain pounds on your windshield do save lives. You definitely wouldn't want to find yourself in the middle of a storm without functional windshield wipers.

But when driving while it's raining and dark at the same time, your windshield wipers won't be enough to give you maximum vision in the circumstance that you're in. You're going to need another set of wipers-but not for the windshield. You're going to need headlight wipers. These wipers are essential when driving during rainy nights, thus you're going to need a good set of headlight wiper blades.

If you're looking for a new headlight wiper blade because your old one is no longer efficient in its job, purchase a replacement right away as you never know when's the next time you'd find yourself driving on a rainy night. It's always better to be ready for anything, after all.

The Way to Go: OEM Replacement

An OEM replacement headlight wiper blade is your best option. With an OEM replacement, you wouldn't have to worry about installation at all as it'd fit right in. It's also of high quality, so the $20-$30 that you'll be shelling out for it is money well spent.

Note: OEM replacements are either sold individually or in kits. It's your choice which one would suit your needs better.

An Alternative: Use a Windshield Wiper Blade

Except for online stores, a replacement headlight wiper blade can be really tough to find. Local auto stores normally don't keep an abundant stock of headlight wiper blades. If you're having trouble finding one, you can always use a windshield wiper blade instead. Yes, you can do that, but it'd take a bit more work of course. It's still pretty easy though. All you've got to do is to cut the windshield wiper blade down to the size of your old headlight wiper blade. There are plenty of resources on the web that detail how to do this correctly.

How to Replace Headlight Wiper Blades

When driving through heavy rain, you simply can't do without windshield wipers. But when you're driving through the heavy rain at night, then you're also going to need the assistance of another kind of wiper-headlight wipers. Headlight wipers ensure that rainwater won't get in the way of your headlights, thus helping you to drive safely at night while it's raining hard. A headlight wiper won't be able to carry out its function properly though without a functional wiper blade. If you've got a case of a bad wiper blade, there's no need to worry (unless you're already in the middle of a storm or something) as replacing an old headlight wiper blade can be done without much difficulty. We'll guide you on how to do it and we'll throw in tips on how to clean headlight wiper blades (or any type of wiper for that matter) as well.

Note: It's recommended that you replace your headlight wiper blade at least once a year.

Difficulty: Easy

Duration: 10 minutes

  • Wire cutter/Razor Blade
  • Pliers

Step 1: Remove your old headlight wiper blade.

Step 2: Since headlight wiper blades aren't that common in auto stores, you can instead use a wiper blade for the windshield (you can go for the refills) as a replacement if you can't find one. Read on if you're going to use a windshield wiper blade. If you're going to use regular a headlight wiper blade, you can skip to step 4.

Step 3: With your old headlight wiper blade as your guide, cut the new blade to the correct size with a wire cutter or razor blade.

Step 4: Install the new blade into the assembly and connect it to the wiper arm.

We said that it's going to be very easy, didn't we? Now, we'll also guide you on how to keep your headlight wiper blades clean.

Difficulty: Easy

  • Clean piece of cloth
  • Dish soap

Step 1: Lift the headlight wiper.

Step 2: Wipe the wiper blade with a clean piece of cloth that's slightly wet with water. If there are stains or dirt on the blade, apply dish soap on your rag and keep on wiping it until they come off.

Step 3: Do the same with your other headlight wiper blade. It's also a good idea to do this for all the wipers in your car (windshield, rear window, tail lights) in order to ensure and maximize safety at all times.
