The Econline, or famously known as the Ford E-Series, is a line of full-size vans that were manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. It started back in 1961 and was launched as a compact van, which can still be seen driven on the streets by proud car owners today. Though this cargo van looked like it didn't undergo a lot of changes physically, its engine and performance went through great developments that have made E-150 customers love this van even more.
Interior and Performance
The E-series Econoline may look the same through the years, but it has undergone improvements in the engine and interior. In 1997, the car engine underwent a major change. From the previous 300 inline-6, the 4.2 L Essex V6 engine was installed. Also, the former 7.5 L⁄460 V8 engine was replaced with the new 6.8 L Triton V10 for even better performance. Not only that, but the 5.0L/302 was replaced with the 4.6 L and the 5.8 L⁄351 Windsor V8 was swapped with the 5.4 L Triton V8. The interior was also modified during the year. From the simple grille, the E-series was installed with an updated one, which featured an oval cutout. There was an ergonomic dashboard for the comfort of the driver, as well as new dual airbags for increased safety of the passengers. The E-150 was also installed with anti-lock brakes and decent driving performance, which wowed the owners back in 1997. With these major replacements, the Econoline has become a better van for the car owners.
In 2008, the major advancement that the E-Series Econoline underwent was the development of the brake and suspension, as well as the grille and steering. It also had a better payload capacity, which gave better comfort to the passengers riding the cargo. The handling was improved as well as the gas, which was more powerful compared to the previous vans. The E-150 Econoline's appearance was modified as it was installed with new bumpers, headlights, and a radical grille. For safety, the new SecuriLock, which is also known as the Passive Anti-Theft System, came as an option. This increased the safety of the passengers riding inside the van. With all these major advancements, the Econoline has become an ideal vehicle for getaway trips for a big family or a group of friends. With comfort, style, and safety, the driver could not ask for more in a van like the Econoline.
