Getting the Right Seat Slider
You'll never notice seat sliders at all. You'll barely given them a second though as you tug on the lever to adjust your seat and give yourself more legroom. Once they start malfunctioning and refuse to move, you'll then realize how integral they been to your life. Seat sliders are tracks are installed just under your seats, roughly like that of a roller coaster or a train, and are locked into place by a lever. Getting the right seat sliders can be quite ma tricky business if you don't know what you're looking for.
Getting the perfect fitting seat slider
If your car is brand new or if the seats haven't been upgraded since being bought then you can safely purchase any seat slider made for your specific car model. Seat sliders are built to fit only certain types of seat mounts and to accommodate limited types of vehicles so be sure that you're getting the right tone.
If not, it would be better to take note of the measurements of your seats risers or anything else you'll be attaching your seat sliders to. Try bringing your automobile to the nearest auto shop to have your car inspected and to determine the best seat slider for you.
Seat bracket with sliders
If you are looking to replace the entire seat mount assembly, there are brackets available that come with seat sliders. Some of these brackets may require you to drill into the flooring of your car to accommodate them.
There are also universal seat brackets available. Don't rush to get one just yet though. It still won't fit in all of the vehicles out there today but only in a broader range of cars. It will still help to check out the dimensions of both the universal seat sliders and the dimensions of your flooring to prevent any mismatches. Be aware that universal brackets are also not compatible with every car seat in the market.
Seat slider price ranges
Some of high end and heavy duty seat sliders available can be had for almost $200 dollars. These high-end sliders are made to be extra durable and are coated with paint and preservatives to prevent corrosion. Some of these sliders also offer more sliding room for that extra leg space, to the detriment of the person behind you. Some of the most basic seat sliders cost as little as $20. Don't expect too much more than basic sliding abilities though.
