The central heating and cooling system of your car will not function if you do not have a blower motor. This electrically controlled fan is responsible for circulating air into the passenger compartment, making you and your car's occupants comfortable during your ride. This motor has thin and thick coils that correspond to the setting of air flow that enters the cabin. If the thin coil is activated, the motor's blades will spin faster, thus sending more air into the cabin. The thick coil, however, corresponds to the low setting and makes the fan rotate slower, thus decreasing the amount of air entering the cabin. Because the motor has electrical components, it is prone to burned terminals and worn windings. When you need a replacement, look for one that matches the specs of the old unit based on speed ratings, amperage, horsepower, and voltage. 4-Seasons is one brand that you might try, but before buying its product, let us first see if it has the qualities you need.

We tested this component on a 2006 Hyundai Tucson and a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina, and here is what we have to say:
- Visually, this product looked okay. The plastic blades were clean and had the same distance from each other. There were a lot of holes for mounting, and the plug at one side was rust-free.
- We installed the component without any hassle. We just had to take off the old one, put this new unit in, start the car, turn the knob, and listen to the blower motor come to life. The procedure took barely fifteen minutes for each car.
- The motor was responsive enough to the speed changes we were inputting using the fan knob. The increase or decrease in air flow was noticeable, but compared with the power of the previous unit on each car, this one did not yield an equal amount.
- The unit was obviously smaller than the stock ones on the Tucson and the Lumina. But that was not the thing that we actually disliked. Its being smaller than the stock ones was even worsened by its being out of balance and not blowing enough air into the cabin of the two vehicle. We really thought that this unit had less power than the regular OE blower motors.
- When driving the two vehicles, we heard an almost inaudible humming sound from the motor. This sound would obviously become more pronounced when idling. We did not have that issue with the old unit on each car.
This is one of the cheapest units in the market, but according to anecdotal reports online, the product does not produce much air to supply the cabin. We also experienced the same, but we would like you to try the product and evaluate its power yourself. Perhaps, its performance was relative to the type of vehicle used. Nevertheless, the unit looks good, has the right specs, and is responsive enough.
