These feature either precision cut or shaved backing plates, and mechanically attached shims to ensure proper fitting in the caliper, virtually eliminating noise associated with pad vibration. A special scorching process forces any impurities out of the friction material and accelerates the break-in process. This promotes earlier and more complete bed-in of the pads, thereby increasing their effective stopping power from the very first stop.
