1219092 Volvo Crankshaft Vibration Damper was introduced in 1985 to help reduce the vibration on Volvo engines. There is a section of rubber that separates the inner and outer portions of the pulley and over time as the rubber deteriorates enabling the outer part of the damper to rotate causing the timing marks not to line up or be accurate. This may also lead to squealing noises that sound very similar to worn or lose v-belts. In extreme cases the outer pulley can move inward enough to rub on the timing cover.
