CENTERFORCE – BILLET STEEL FLYWHEELS
Does your vehicle have an engine that produces a massive amount of torque? Or do you own a vehicle commonly used for towing or off-roading? Bolting-in a long-life Centerforce Billet Steel Flywheel is a great choice for these types of vehicles. Constructed of high-quality billet steel, this flywheel was designed to outperform and outlast cast iron flywheels while engaging smoothly throughout its life. For the ultimate in performance, install it together with a Centerforce Performance Clutch. Back in 1982, Centerforce revolutionized the clutch industry with fresh thinking that led to Centerforce’s patented centrifugal weight system which forms the foundation of all Centerforce clutch designs. After installing a Centerforce Performance Clutch you can expect much smoother and quicker clutch-engagement than stock clutches and a longer-lasting clutch experience. Loved by manual-transmission drivers everywhere, Centerforce offers a variety of clutches catering to all driving requirements.
Contact between the flywheel and disc will naturally cause hot spots, grooves, thermal cracks and/or frequent concave warpage. Therefore, the flywheel should always be replaced or resurfaced during each clutch system replacement. AMS Automotive understands that some flywheels are virtually impossible to resurface and that equipment plays an important role in the quality of the flywheel surface. AMS does not recommend the use of brake rotor lathes or small tool room lathes. Hot spots are significantly harder than the surrounding flywheel material. Brake rotor and small tool room lathes do not have the required cutting capacity to allow the cutting tool to remove hot spots in a uniform manner. Instead, a flywheel grinder or CNC lathe is used.
LuK conventional flywheel is dynamically balanced to reduce vibration and improve clutch performance. Every component is new - never remanufactured. All parts are engineered and built to original-equipment specifications, including the ring gear and dowel pins.
