Looking to purchase Hyundai Sonata Headlight with a specific budget in mind? Browse products by price:
You didn't buy your Hyundai Sonata just to go for a drive when it's sunny outside; you bought it to take you to your destination even when it's dark, foggy, snowy, or rainy. It's during these poor lighting conditions that your headlights shine bright so you can see what's on the road ahead. Not only will you be able to avoid colliding into obstacles, but you'll also be able to signal to other drivers that you're on the road with them. If your Sonata's headlights or any of its components break down, you'll need to replace them immediately; otherwise, you might find yourself with two alternatives: driving only when it's sunny or racing a dark road towards jail, the hospital, or the cemetery.

FAQ

Ask APW
  • Answer: One of the reasons why the Sonata's headlight bulbs often blow out is because the replacement bulb has an incompatible candle light power with the car. Bulbs with higher candle light power can overheat the wiring and so they blow out. To prevent this, consult the Sonata's manual for the best candle light power for replacement bulbs. Another reason why bulbs blow out prematurely are the oil and dirt that gets transferred on them while the replacement is ongoing. Be sure to wear clean gloves and avoid touching the glass of the bulb to prevent this.
  • Answer: There are a few possible causes for flickering headlights: the Sonata could have faulty low beam headlight relay, a faulty body control module, a busted headlight switch, poor ground contact, or a wiring issue. Faulty wiring can be checked by opening the fuse panel beneath the steering column and examining if they are frayed. You can also check the wiring that runs to the headlights underneath the hood for damages to the wire. It might also help to make sure that the electrical connector is securely plugged in. If the flickering occurs when the Sonata is idle, it could be because of tension or fraying in the alternator belt. If this is the case, it is best to contact a trusted mechanic or the dealer (if the car is still under warranty).
  • Answer: The 2010 and 2011 models have been known to have headlights that project a black line across the windshield where the low beams project and disappear. Some have chalked this up as a feature of the Sonata's design and it is suggested that drivers who experience this use the high beams if they encounter any visual impairments.
