"This rack is of good quality and seemed to assembly nicely. However when it arrived there were no brackets to attached to the top of my HONDA CRV. after reading the description a little more closely I realized that for a direct mount on a roof (without factory bars) I would have to purchase the roof brackets separately. Also once installed the holes in the floor bars didnt line up with the crossbar that attaches to the structure of my vehicle. When I hit 70 miles per hour on the road it resonates and sounds like a very loud tuning fork with a similar pitch to that of a civil defense siren. I would be recommended to purchase the floor kit with this rack to give more support under your load. My first use of this rack was to transport some queen-sized mattresses across town and they sat very well on the top of the rack. The 3/4 aluminum tubing provided a good attachment point for bungie cords and rope to secure the load. For the money this rack is a good purchase provided its larger than average size. I plan on using it for vacation and inserting a ridgeline Pro 3 waterproof cargo bag inside."posted by: hondaguy23 on June 12, 2013
"I bought this for my Jeep Liberty. It was easy to put together but a challenge to instal on the factory roof rack. I bought the optional brackets but they are only for gutter mount and they didn't work for my vehicle. I took the advice of another reviewer and used U bolts. They work great but need to be checked/tightened after driving in high winds and bumpy conditions. The basket was large enough to accommodate two foot lockers and a backpacking pack."posted by: Joe on April 2, 2012
