It s been a long time since I bought the window motor (refurbished) for my Toyota Corolla. I shopped around for the installation cost but the service was too expensive. So I decided to install the piece myself after searching for DIYs in the internet. Thanks to people who shared their skills. I just did it yesterday 4/04/14. Thanks to Autoparts Warehouse for sending me an item that works.

Window Motor replace on a 2000 Toyota Sienna Van by fixmycar, February 3, 2010

The Toyota dealership was going to charge way over $100. for the part. When the part arrived at my house, I had a little over and hour before my wife needed the van to drive. I was worried I might run into problems, but the window motor came with instructions that helped a lot. I just took my time and in less than 1 hour, I had the old window motor out and the new one installed. I connected the power window switch and checked to make sure it was working before I put back the door trim. I can't believe I drove the van around for 2 years with a broken window motor. It was cheap and easy to repair my self. The one tool you need to take off the old motor was a T27 star driver. The rest was just standard tools. Be sure and check on the internet for instruction on how your interior door trim should be removed. All cars are slightly different.

I priced these motors at both Chevy and Toyota dealerships, and they wanted about $300. Neither had them in stock. My cost here was about $60 after paying core-return shipping. Thankfully I had disassembled the door before I got the instructions. They would have had me remove the entire window regulator assembly. I did it by blind removal of the three screws holding the motor to the regulator after loosening the regulator assembly only. Not easy, but for easier than pulling all the guts out of the door. A great buy!

Ordered a rebuilt CARDONE window motor for driver's window on my 2000 CAMRY CE which has 105K miles. I am a 67 yr. old guy who is "handy" but never "into" auto repair other than minor stuff. Decided to tackle this repair job with a friend after getting a few quotes from "pros". Toyota dealer wanted $560 and a "independent" offered to do the job "labor only" for $170. Pep boys quoted $380. After reading several instructional guides/diagrams, it appeared that the job was gonna be similar to brain surgery so I was intimidated. The information was only helpful in two areas, 1) TAKE YOUR TIME REMOVING THE DOOR PANEL. and 2) USE A CLAMP TO LOCK THE MOTOR AND RETAINER GEAR TOGETHER WHEN CHANGING OUT THE MOTOR. The job took us about 4 hours to complete. We took our time since neither of us had done this job before and we wanted to "get it right the FIRST time". You dont have to be a "auto body man or auto mechanic" to do this job since it is much easier than I thought it would be. Lastly, all the instructions on how to do this job can be IGNORED except for the two I mentioned above.

Difficult Installation by , January 18, 2009

I had never installed a window motor before. I figured the hardest part would be removal of the trim panel and its associated handles and controls. That was the easy part. The motor is hidden behind the inside steel of the door. There were two holes in the door to get access to the motor. Removal of the old and installation of the new motor is done totally "blind". You reach your hands through the holes and feel your way around. There were three bolts to remove which were extremely difficult to remove since you couldn't see what you were trying to work on. Trying to install the bolts on the new motor was even more difficult. Luckily I had a friend helping me who had some experience working on such things. It took a lot of patience. Frustration level was high. Next time I'll have a repair shop do this.

This is the first time I've tackled a repair like this. The instructions were pretty clear. I ended up removing the window from the car rather than taping it in place and it was a little unclear how to clamp the regulator section in place. Once the assemble was removed from the door frame the reason and place to clamp the regulator made sense. The whole repair took about 45 minutes. It works great.

Installation was straight forward, instructions were useful, the crimp on wiring was easy and the motor operates just like the original. We noticed that it is just lightly louder than the original Toyota motor.
