This is a defective mirror to begin with, it is only held in place by three bolts attached to the plastic mirror mount. It cracks and breaks easily under normal wear and tear. Not CIPA's fault, but CIPA can be commended for providing a replacement part for a much cheaper price than the dealership, I usually have to pay in excess of $225 at the dealer, was able to get this part for $75, shipping and handling included.

Received my door mirror in great time, part matched perfect, and installation was easy... part when right in place.

When removing the old mirror the nuts fell down inside the door panel. Since the new unit did not come with nuts I had to go to the parts store with the mirror to make sure the nuts would fit the mounting studs. they are standard. I dont know if the mirror body was shinny on the car when NEW. These are -- So I have one in matt and one shinny(the new one ). I noticed when I was at the Discount auto parts store for the nuts , they had the same mirror for $2 more plus tax. I never checked befoe ordering.
