fantastic replacements by scorpion46y, June 12, 2010

These mirrors are a breeze to put on. It took me about 40 min to replace both. They look stock and most people don't think that most originals are painted the same color as vehicle. most don't know they have been replaced. They are a great value as Ford wanted about $116 and up for replacements that are totally black.

99 Ford F150 mirror by Motor, July 21, 2009

Mounted pefectly, looking exactly like the original. Except one thing. The color match cap on the back. I knew I had to switch my color matched one with the chrome one that came with it. Not as easy as installation, pushing the clips off with strap metal behind the mirror. The original does not quite fit perfectly, but holds on well enough by three ( out of four) of the clips that it works out well. Beats buying the mirror from a dealership for 4X or more!!!! If I had chrome accent caps, this mirror would have been impossible to tell from factory, other than the motors that move it are a bit different. They sound weaker and are not as smooth. But once you adjust the mirror to where you want, that matters little, they still do the job, how often do you actually adjust the mirrors? At each car wash? The motors moving your mirror do not pull stumps, they move the mirror just fine, not just as quiet as the original did. What matters is the mirror you buy looks like and fits where the one that was damaged on your truck did. Wiring adapters come with this mirror to fit the two variations of connections for the span of years this style of mirror was used. Easy plug and play. Wiring was nearly short, but enough to work just fine. It has been on my truck now for a few weeks and worked great, and the color cap has not had problems, even though it did not fit perfectly. No one but me has noticed yet. I am very picky, so my critiques are what they are. If you want to fix a broken mirror, you will be pleasantly surprised. If you want to restore a vehicle to perfect condition that no one can tell, you might have some reservations. With some work, the color cap could be fitted on perfectly with a little dremel tool work, and maybe some adhesive on the one side that did not snap on perfectly. Unless you value time too highly, this extra finish work will be well worth what you save takng a trip to your dealership and ordering their mirror! Trust me on that, I did that a few years before. There is no excuse for them to charge 4X or more for the same product in the same useable form. Plus, that was over 6 years ago, so this item may cost more from a dealership than I experienced! Or, if you are picky as I normally am. Buy two chrome accented mirrors, or two pure black mirrors and be done with it. If I did not have to change the color accent part, I might have given the motors that move the mirror a pass. I reckon for a 160 dollar savings, this is acceptable. It would cost me a lot less than that in time and adhesive to fit the color coded cap on perfectly if this was a restoration job on a show truck!

The product was easy to find and in stock. The price was far less than I expected it would be. I received it in less time than I thought it would take.

It looks just like the original mirror and cost a lot less that at the Fords part counter.

Although I have never installed a new mirror I was able to do it in 15 minutes. The motivation was the price of the part being so affordable compared to what Ford wanted to charge to replace it!
