I was a bit skeptical about buying such a part from anyone else other that the VW dealer but once the part arrived I realized it was the same as the original and it was not made in China. If I had to take my car to the dealer to perform the repairs I probably would have spent at least 3 times as much as doing it myself. One piece of advice; temporarily disconnect the hose from the secondary air pump to the air box (air filter) before statring the engine the first time after replacing the EGR valve. Carbon deposits and other debris may come loose during removal of the old EGR valve which then gets sucked into the air intake when the car is started. The debris could get caught in the MAF sensor and set off P1128 error code. I had to remove and clean my MAF sensor to fix the problem.
