O2 sensors are expensive. The cheapest I could find the regular Denso sensor is $150 this one is less than 1/3rd the price. The only issue is that you need to use the old sensors wire harness - which is a common failure point. So check the old wire harness before purchasing this one. Also the sensor comes with crimps which I think would fail over time. The best bet is to solder the wires and use a liquid electrical tape or something similar to keep road grime and dirt out of the wires. If you go through the effort to do it right then I think the sensor will last as long as the regular Denso. Also as a side note this is a Denso sensor so you are getting a quality O2 sensor.

While I m sure this would work as a before catalytic converter oxygen sensor in a 2005 Honda Civic EX like the website said it would it is actually completely useless because 2005 Honda Civics don t use before catalytic converter oxygen sensors they use air fuel ratio sensors. I m sure this is a fine product that works wonderfully as a oxygen sensor based on all of the other great reviews here but double check that this is what your car actually needs! It looks similar to a air fuel sensor and it fit in my car but my car couldn t read anything from it.

This universal oxygen sensor is a breeze to install. The connectors needed to splice your wires are included in the kit and the sensor is also pre-coated with an anti-seize compound right out of the box. Also included is an easy to navigate wiring diagram showing every possible color combination for your vehicle application. Great value on this part all in all.

The overall experience was good but come on guys send relevant information with the product especially electrical parts.

I liked the installation of this connector mainly because of the ability to splice it directly into the OE wires which matched for color code identically with the originals. The OE connector is so high up and inaccessible this sensor made replacement an easy chore. The splicing does not seem to negatively impact the operation of the sensor. I chose to purchase better quality connectors and then tightly wrap the connections all together to make it weatherproof.

Replaced 4 sensors in '04 Mitsubishi Galant I just purchased and dealer shafted me on. You can actually look at the wiring chart on the site. I had checked to see if mine were an exact match, and with 2 blacks, a blue, and a white, it appeared it was. But it really wasn't, because when I received the sensors, I noticed that the first matchup in the charts was wrong. It showed the sensor having 2 blacks, a blue, and a white, but they just reprinted the color wires for the car, so it's a misprint. The sensors are 2 whites, a black, and a grey. If you have my type sensor, you can look further down the listings on the chart to see that they printed it properly at the bottom for 2 blacks, a blue, and a white. Once I became aware of that, everything else was simple, although it took a little time to do all 4. I would say anyone with a basic mechanical aptitude should have no problem installing, just take your time and double check you have the wires connected properly. I'd advise getting the special O2 sensor socket to make the job easier. I wrapped my crimp connectors with electrical tape to be safe. I had the battery disconnected as I removed, wired, and reinstalled all 4 at once. I was a little worried having to do 4 that something might not work out. Being extra cautious, the job took about 2 hours, and I didn't even have to jack up the car. After finishing job, engine light was out, but came back on after 80-100 miles. Wasn't sure what the problem might be. Had to get an emission inspection, so I disconnected the battery again for a few hours hoping to at least get through until it came back on. The car passed emissions, and I have driven it for over 500 miles without the light coming back, so I'd say it's good now. Don't know why it had to be disconnected twice to work, but if you're sure of your connections and sure the sensors are the problem, you might have to do this too. Very happy with the final outcome, and at $25 bucks and change each, I couldn't be happier.

The sensor arrived with instructions and anti-seize applied on the threads. Be sure to have some anti-seize on hand to supplement. Matching the wiring up wasn't a problem; however, the sensor tested high on my pre-installation continuity check. Shooting the heater wires gave me 4x the resistance the OEM cites (4.4 ohms vs. 1.1 ohms on OEM). Okay, I thought I'd install and check via the OBD II analyzer. Bad move on my part...threads crossed on install. Oh well, after correcting threads with No. 8 metric file (1.5mm) and double-checking sensor port with thread chaser, the sensor installed without additional problem. The sensor did not work! The O2 sensor failed in both Bank 1 and Bank 2 positions (done to double check). I figure I should eat the sensor since I messed with the threads, but I will not buy another one of these.

Nobodies fault but mine! I ordered a universal 4 wire Oxy Sensor for 98 Camry (Cal Emissions). The instructions did not include directions for my sensor so I had to guess. I tried all the wiring permutations I could (should have been easy because 2 of the 4 wires were for the heat element). No matter what I tried the universal sensor would not work correctly - it was sending the computer a" lean" signal which made the engine run very rich. and the Check-Engine light to come back on. I had to order the $131.00 version with the 4 pin connector that MATCHED MY CONNECTOR & tossed the Universal $37.00 version out.

This saved me at least $200.00! After the check engine light went on the OBDII showed a code of P0135-02-sensor heater circuit malfunction-bank 1, sensor 1.That is the sensor at the back of the engine on the right side of the exhaust outlet. Lean over the engine to see it. The included diagram didn't show my OEM wire colors for the 2000 Volvo V70, but I was able to dope it out by reading some of the prior reviews. Disconnect the battery ground(make sure you have your four digit radio code first! I called a dealer and they gave it to me over the phone). Connect the two white wires on USOS 4000 to the two black wires on the Volvo. Connect the black on the replacement to the blue on the OEM. That leaves the grey to the white. Connect it. Redo the battery ground, start the car and punch in the radio code using the numbered presets. I had to wait 5-10 minutes for the light to go out. HOORAH!

Appearance:
Ease of Use/Installation:
Quality:

In our 2003 Honda Accord with 4 cylinder engine, this is the exact same size as the factory sensor that fits into the side of the catalytic converter. I bought a special sensor socket for 9.99 locally that fits a 3/8" drive ratchet. This allowed for easy removal and installation. The 4 wires could not be more simple. 2 of the 4 wires on the new sensor are the same color, white. These are the heater wires. Then 2 of the 4 are the same color on the car side, blue. Connect these double matching wires on the car to the double matching on sensor regardless of colors. Then use a test meter to determine which wire in the remaining 2 wires on the car is ground, then connect it to the ground wire on the new sensor per the included instructions. Then obviously the remaining 4th wire is your sensor wire, make last connection & you are done! Thread in the new sensor before connecting the wiring recommended. Make sure you have your car radio reset code before doing next step. Reset computer by disconnecting battery for 15 minutes. Engine light should be off after reconnecting and starting car. If you don't have strong crimping tool for butt connectors, you may get better results twisting your copper wires together STRONG and using a lot of electrical tape instead of the butt connector. Butt connectors are only good when a good crimp is made, otherwise they will come loose.

The sensors looked good and the wires matched perfectly...installation was a snap. The only issue was with the wire splices they provided--they were a bit bigger than they had to be and didn't crimp very well. I ended up throwing them out an buying a pack from RadioShack for about $2.

I never got the product all the way in to the point where it looks like it's supposed to go to, and I worry it's not completely in there, but it does work well. My little 2.2L I4 used to only get average 24 mpg with the way I drive because it has 165K miles and every time I would accelerate on a cold day, there'd be a huge cloud of steam behind me because the old o2 sensor was bad making the engine run too rich. I originally had a 1-wire o2 sensor, but I just hooked up the sensor wire to the old plug, attached the heater wires, and screwed in the ground wire and I was good to go. The most difficult part was getting the vice-grips to make the sensor tighten down because I could not find an open-ended wrench that was big enough. But once I got it all hooked up, I noticed instantly how much smoother the engine idled and revved, and at my next fillup, I noticed a huge jump in gas mileage all the way up to 32 mpg with no change in driving style. I also noticed that now that it's getting colder out, I am not leaving behind a massive cloud of unburned gas when I accelerate onto the highway.

Seems to be a fully functional part and works just fine, engine runs much smoother since I put it on - all that for about half of what I would have paid at one of the big auto-supply chains for just another no-name brand part. Plug transplant wasn't very much of a hassle. Color codes in instruction flyer didn't match, but with schematics in Haynes repair manual and the explanations in the flyer I had it figured out in 2 minutes. I didn't trust the connectors that came with it, so I soldered the wires instead.

You have to match the wires up correctly and the instructions might help and they might not. It said that with my color wires I just hook up the same colors from the O2 sensor but the colors on the sensor were not the same. I pretty much had to guess but its a 50/50 chance you'll get it right because 2 of the 4 wires are the same color so you just match those up and then that leaves 2 left.

99 Honda CR-V. I'm embarrassed to say I let this car go 160k on its original sensor. When mileage became erratic on a recent trip I thought I'd throw an O2 sensor at it. Local parts store wanted $70 for their cheapest universal sensor, so I was happy to find one for $37 here. The only installation problem was the wire colors in the instructions didn't match the wires on the old sensor (this is a cut and splice unit) but a little logic and an ohmmeter figured it out. The wire color problem could just be a Honda thing. Anyway, it's a quality sensor that made my CR-V run like new again.

This probe matched the original color code of OEM probe. It was easy to install. I took out the old probe from below, with a wrench, and installed the new one from above, with a socket. Being the least expensive than other's replacement parts was also a bonus.

Don't 'save' money on a generic splice in o2 sensor like I did before buying this sensor. The cheaper one took longer to install and didn't fix my check engine light. This sensor is $150+ cheaper than the local parts store or the dealership, so your still saving money. And its DENSO.

As the prior poster stated, the wiring diagram was not included for my application which was for a D16Z6 engine, but was able to figure out by looking at the other wiring schematics. I have had it on my civic for 4 months and has not given me any issues. an at a cost of 30 bucks it it a good value, and got and increase of 3mpg per gallon average. Great product

This O2 sensor was an excellent product, it was purchased for a AT 97 Honda Civic DX couple 1.6L Non-Vtech. The wiring diagram that came with the sensor did not have my wiring diagram for being able to splice, but with 5 different diagrams you can tell which wires need to be spliced to what. Installation tips: make sure you have anti-seize for the threads on the sensors. My honda had 2 sensors to replace on the catalytic converter and both were replaced with this spliceable-replacement. Make sure you have an oxygen sensor socket or wrench a standard kit will not have this socket. The wrench roughly costs 25 dollars on the high side. Gave the product 5 stars. Spicing the stock connector to the new oxygen sensor was easy with the butt splices provides. 4 plugs come per sensor and was double crimped on each side, 4crimps per plug. Overall, Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Skill experience to install *

Came without exhaust flange but can't complain because of price, just knocked old sensor out of flange, drilled and tapped hole for replacement sensor. Wiring diagram provided didn't match but, easily figured out. 3 days after new installation got bad catalyst code. Reset and has been fine the last 10 days. If this sensor continues operating good for the next year I will change all the stars to 5's.
