RADIATOR WORKS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL IN MY CAMPER VAN. I HAVE DROVE FROM OHIO TO CALIFORNIA WITH NO PROBLEMS, AND THE ALUMINUM LOOKS GREAT TO.

Just one wide row, not 3 rows as advertised by on the fence about recommendation, September 26, 2010

This radiator advertises 3 rows and a core thickness of 1.87 inches. It does not have 3 rows, but one wide row of at least 1.5 inches. I have not yet installed it. My factory service manual states that the thickest radiator offered stock was 1.5 inches, so this should be more than adequate, considering my current copper/brass 2 row, 1.25 inch thick radiator has no issues keeping the 318/5.2 liter V8 at temp. Since aluminum is stronger than brass, the tubes can be bigger( wider) which translates into more surface area between tube and fin. This makes up for aluminum's less efficient transfer of heat compared to copper. Also, the Brass tubes must be smaller, and the copper fins are soldered to the brass tubes with lead, which does not transfer heat as well. I do not mind the 1 row design, as long as the tubes do not expand under 16PSI pressure. I figure it could translate into less restriction, and better cooling. I do mind that it was advertised as a 3 row and 1.87 inches thick, when it is not. The welds are obviously done by hand, and some sections look very nice, others are sloppy. It comes with two additional 3/8 inch NPT fittings on the top tank. There are plastic plugs, But I can thread them to depth by hand and could see them leaking without the liberal use of teflon tape. I am going to use one for a mechanical temp sender. I will buy a brass 3/8 npt plug for the other.

We replaced our radiator, and went on a road trip the next week, no leaks, overheating, no problems at all!! It was a cheaper and better radiator than we could find anywhere else, and was delivered 3 days before we expected it to be here!!
