2001 Acura Integra hatch supports by SkokieBill, December 12, 2010

Needed to replace work out lifts for my Integra. In cold weather a light breeze would slam it shut! Found these through online search. Reasonable price and what appears to be a quality product. Have them on now in near zero weather and they perform flawlessly. Only time will tell how durable they are, but right now they are a definite bargain. I would surely buy again.

Easy installed; would advise that you are buying one strut not two.

I bought these struts to replace OEM ones on my Acura. The first thing to note is that they fit upside down, which is not a big deal since they work just as well. However, no assembly instructions were provided. Connecting the ball end to the hatch was easy and intuative. Getting the OEM part off was difficult since the ball does not come off the socket, so don't try! However to connect the eye to the actually car a plastic washer and bush are used, but the assembly order is not obvious. Had to search on the internet for how to pictures.

These went in very easily, just a few minutes for each side after sanding the bushings. I reused the e clips that held the originals on so I don't know how the new ones fit. Overall these are a good alternative to the OEM parts.

As replacement trunk struts for my 2000 Integra GS-R the Stabilus supports ultimately work fine and they are certainly less expensive than Acura parts. I had two problems related to the trunk attachment points. The original part is a rotating ball. The Stabilus support is a fixed point that is held on with an E clip. The E clip that came in the package was too small to install. I got the right size at the local hardware store. I've used the trunk and the clip has not snapped off but obviously there must be some stress on it so time will tell. Unrelated, there was a small nylon sleeve left over that I could not find a use for. At about half the price of the Acura part it's worth it.

I got used to my old struts that never kept the hatch up. Often hitting me on the head or on the back. Stabilus Trunk Struts not only stay up, they are capable of keeping the door WITH snow and ice on the top. Great performance.

This worked great on my 98 Integra LS hatchback....took about 15-20 minutes to install and works well. Good buy and was shipped quickly.

These strutts saved me from injury by silvershod, December 7, 2007

This is the second purchase of these struts. I installed a set on my mom's van and a set on my Acura Integra hatch back. when the factory struts gave out I nearly injured myself by the hatch falling me. These struts are so easy! A screwdriver, a wrench and 10 minutes and it is as good as new!
