I'm not a mechanic or handyman by any means, but even I pulled off a successful install to solve a rust problem on an '89 Ford F150. Treated fender with rust reformer, paint and rubberized spray before install. Even cut away some rotted sections and used sheet metal to form braces where the flares had to be attached. All said and done, it worked! Completely hides the rust and my ugly restoration efforts. Looks like they're meant to be there.
