How can you make sure that your vehicle's strut rod won't ever go down to deterioration? Sadly, there's no possible means of doing that as every vehicle component is bound to age given the right time. However, what you can do is to delay this from happening so you can make the most out of your strut rod. And one of the components that can help you with this is the Strut Rod Bushing. You see, by making sure that the strut rod is properly cushioned, you can guarantee that it's subjected under less friction, noise, and vibrations. And this can prolong the lifespan of your strut rod even if it's constantly exposed to wear and tear. Now, to ensure that this component can withstand the taxing job, it's constructed from high-strength materials. On top of that, it's customized to match the specifications of several vehicle makes and models. That said it can go perfectly into your car's settings without making any unnecessary modifications to it. But aside from a precise fit, this also makes its installation speedy and simple. So even if you're planning to do it on your own, you're confident that you'll be able to do this without any hassle at all. If you want to put off the aging of your strut rod some other time, you need to equip it with a quality Strut Rod Bushing. And if you're in the hunt for a top-notch product, you can get it here at Auto Parts Warehouse.
How to Install a Replacement Strut Rod Bushing
Do you hear a knocking sound from your vehicle's strut rod? If yes is your answer, then there's a good chance that its strut rod bushing is already damaged. Luckily, you don't really need to call a professional mechanic to install a new strut rod bushing in your vehicle. If you're looking to replace the old strut rod bushing, just follow the instructions below.
Difficulty level: Moderate
- Floor jack and jack stands
- 19mm Metric wrenches
- Rubber mallet
- Metric sockets (19mm and 22mm)
- Replacement strut rod bushing
- Paint pen or marker
Step 1: Using the 19mm metric wrench, remove the lug nut bolts.
Step 2: Raise the front part of your vehicle using a floor jack. Add extra support by placing jack stands underneath your vehicle.
Step 3: Using a 19mm metric wrench, carefully remove the undercarriage cover, lug nuts, front wheels, and front tires.
Step 4: Place a mark on the adjustment calibration discs of the strut rod bushing using a paint pen or marker. This way, you'll be able to put the calibration discs later on.
Step 5: Using a wrench, carefully remove the bolt that attaches the strut to the strut mount.
Step 6: Next, remove the bolts of the lower strut mount using the same technique in step number five.
Step 7: Now, to make the removal of the bushing easier, remove the bolts attached to the strut rod and the ones that hold the bushing. Don't forget how the bolts are attached so you can reinstall them later on.
Step 8: Remove the strut rod, and then remove the old strut rod bushing. Install the new strut rod bushings using metric wrenches and sockets.
Step 9: Reinstall the undercarriage cover, lug nuts, front wheels, calibration discs, strut rod, and front tires.
