There are cars so beautiful and so sexy, you’d give up a kidney just to be able to get one of them. And then there are cars that could really use the help of a cosmetic surgeon (if you know what we mean).
We’ve listed a few of those said vehicles below. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but the ones we listed were the ones that quickly came to our mind (hence, the recency bias). Also, just to make it clear, we don’t really think these vehicles are bad, they’re just…not that great to look at.
With that out of the way, let’s go to the list:
- 2014 Jeep Cherokee
Jeep decided to revive the Cherokee nameplate, then promptly bestowed it upon this monstrosity. Just look at that front end. LOOK AT IT!
- 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour
The proportions are bad, the grille is way too big, and that rear end is just wrong on so many levels. Also, we can’t help but ask “what is it, really?
- 2010 Acura ZDX
Everything we said about the Honda Accord Crosstour, with emphasis on THAT GRILLE. What in the world was Acura thinking?
- 2008 BMW X6
This is what happens when a car company thinks it can make a big crossover look like a coupe.
- 2010 Porsche Panamera
By now, the capabilities of Porsche’s sedan can no longer be questioned. As for its looks, that’s a different story altogether. Its proportions are just way off, and its rear end is very awkward.
- 1998 Fiat Multipla
This is the perfect example of a carmaker prioritizing function over form…because there’s no other way to explain why it looks the way it does.
- 2010 BMW 5 Series GT
We have no idea what niche BMW was trying to fill with this…thing. All we know is that it’s not very pretty.
- 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca
At the time the Tribeca was launched, Subaru adopted a corporate grille that evoked the company’s roots in aviation, which they abandoned after just one generation. Gee, we wonder why?
- 1996 Ford Taurus
We can’t decide if it looks more like an alien or a mutated fish. Either way, it could use a lot of help in the looks department.
- 2001 Pontiac Aztek
Ah, the Aztek. The embodiment of pretty much everything that is wrong in car design. It was supposed to show GM’s renewed focus on design. Instead, it became the butt of many a joke because of how it looked. It has recently experienced a bit of a surge in popularity, thanks to its role in the hit TV series Breaking Bad. Still, there’s no changing the fact that the Aztek isn’t something that you can call beautiful.
And there you have it. Again, this is not a complete list. These are just the ones that popped up in our heads when we thought about the cars that could use some styling help. Got any suggestions?
