There’s a lesson to be learned here: always wear a seat belt.
And more importantly: do not set a person’s armpit hair on fire.
Both valuable lessons went up in smoke Sunday, September 14 in Boise, ID, resulting in a teenager crashing his Ford Bronco according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office as reported by KTBV.com.
Eighteen-year-old Tristan Myers was driving the SUV with two girls in the backseat, ages 15 and 16, and apparently a 16-year-old boy with wicked intentions riding shotgun. A few moments before the crash, the boy lit a lighter and proceeded to torch the stuff under poor Myers’ underarm.
It was noted in the report that Myers was already driving erratically before the crash but there seems to be no doubt that it was the flames licking Myers’ armpit that ignited the unfortunate incident.
Unsurprisingly, Myers at first tried to cover up the real cause of the incident, saying he swerved to avoid an animal in the road. Questioning by the police smoked out the uncomfortable truth from the teenagers, three of whom were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The teens were very lucky considering none of them were wearing seat belts.
But the luckiest fellow to walk away from the incident was no doubt Myers who almost ended up losing everything on top of getting his armpit hair burnt.
