Hunger can strike at the most inopportune times, especially when you’re driving. There are a lot of food options that you can choose from to satisfy your hunger but not all of them can be easily eaten in the car.
Here are some food items that you can easily and (more important) cleanly eat while in the car:
- Mixed Nuts
Nuts are awesome! You can have them roasted, salted, flavored, or some other way. The great thing is they’re tasty, protein-packed, and extremely easy to eat. It would be wise to always have a pack in your car.
- Trail Mix
Trail mix, as the name suggests, is supposed to be taken during hikes. It’s tasty, has a lot of different flavors and textures, and is packed full of nutrients. Like mixed nuts, you can easily eat this while driving.
A burrito is easier to eat in a car than a slice of pizza or a burger. This is of course especially true for a small, tightly-packed burrito. Just choose the ones with filling that won’t easily fall off and you’re good to go.
- French Fries
French fries are more filling than potato chips, can be eaten on the go, and are pretty much perfect. Just keep a few napkins or wipes to get the oil off your fingers and you’ll be set.

Not technically food, but what the hell. Smoothies keep you refreshed, and unlike coffee, there’s no danger of you burning your lap when you suddenly stop.
