Picking up a New Chevrolet Emblem

Cars have their own personalities. With their lines and curves, they can be sexy, sporty, traditional, luxe, or practical. Their decorative accessories include the car badge or emblem, which bears the logo or name of the auto maker. If you're thinking of getting a new Chevrolet emblem, you must familiarize yourself with a wide set of options available on the market. Emblems come in different types of material, colors, designs, and finish. To help you get the right or best piece for your vehicle, here's a short list that you'd want to check out:

            Types of car emblems

Billet aluminum car emblem - Billet aluminum is lighter yet durable, which is a great combination. It's typically hand-crafted and polished. This emblem is built with various mounting options.

Steel car emblem - This is manufactured out of carbon steel, which makes it sturdier and more durable. Since it's heavier, it has to be mounted and held using some hardware. A good variety of finish is available for this option. This decorative accessory offers plenty of room for customization and matched styling.

Enamel car emblem-This car emblem is made up of different materials. It uses copper for its metal base, and it's plated with chrome, gold, or nickel. Its remarkable feature are the inlaid enamel colors. This comes with mounting or installation hardware.

Plastic car emblem -This is made using automotive-grade plastic. This is lighter and easier to install. It's mounted through its adhesive backing.

Chrome-plated car emblem - This is a common option. Most factory car emblems are made this way. The chrome-plated type features an adhesive backing.

Decal emblem -This emblem is typically crafted out of vinyl. This is available in different colors. This doesn't come with any hardware and can be installed easily.

Choosing which car emblem to install would most likely depend on the kind of look you're going for. Some of them offer the classic, traditional style; others provide more options when it comes to color and finish. They're also installed differently, as you can see. There are custom-made emblems that you can add to the vehicle if you want to further accentuate it or give it a taste of your own personal style.

            Other options

Car badges can be mounted in various locations of the vehicle, around the exterior or even the interior. They each create a different look. Your options include:

Hood badges -These are typically designed as logos or may be structural in design or form.

Front grill badges -These can be logo or script badges. These typically come with plastic inserts for attaching them to the grille.

Rear badges -These emblems are the ones you see at the rear of the vehicle, placed in the middle. Auto makers may have their car logos made in badge forms. These badges may also come in script badges.

Side door badges -Badges on the side door usually come in long, rectangular shapes with a script or a logo. These are typically built using plastic or acrylic. The inlayed characters on the badge are made of nickel or aluminum.

Scuff plate/door sill badges -These badges are often designed as decals or made as ultra-thin nickel plates. These are installed along the bottom or the inside edge of the door frame or can be attached to a door sill.

LED and vintage badges - LED badges offer a more unique and exciting look to the vehicle because of the lighting. Adhesive LEDs are attached under an existing badge. These are installed into the door's body, wired to the electronics. For the traditional look or retro style, vintage badges are also available. These are popular items for classic vehicles and can be used as commemorative accessories on newer vehicles. They come s dash plaques, auto club badges, and may be built as a replica.
