How to ensure I am getting the right part

I cannot seem to find the part I am looking for. Am I searching correctly? (site engine search and category tab.)

If you've searched for a part by using the keyword search box and didn’t find the part you needed, the part may fall under a different search term. Try using other keyword combinations. For example, If you're looking for a tail light cover for a 1987 Pontiac Bonneville, you may try typing "tail light cover," "tail light cover Pontiac Bonneville 1987," "Bonneville 1987 tail light cover," etc.

If your search returns too many results, try narrowing them down by selecting your vehicles’ year, make, and model in the Vehicle Search box.

However, if your search still doesn't return the part you need, try searching for the part by starting with your vehicle. Enter your vehicle's year, make, and model, and you’ll be shown categories of parts available for your vehicle. Use the category and subcategories link to search for the part you need.

If you still don't find the item after using both the site search engine and the category tabs at the upper part of every web page, then the item you're looking for is probably still being cataloged. Auto Parts Warehouse's catalog has one of the most extensive auto parts selections online because we update and add new SKUs to it everyday. So if you don't find the part you're currently looking for, please check back with us; we might have it by then.

You're always welcome to contact us directly and request the availability of the part you need. You can contact a Customer Service Representative using our toll-free number at 1-800-913-6119 or 1-801-214-2997 (then press 1) or via Live Chat.

What is a UNIVERSAL part? How do I make sure it will fit my car?

A universal part is not a direct part, which means that its specifications (measurements, alignments) are not exactly the same as the one your car requires. It will fit any year, make, and model, but you might need to do some modifications to the part in order to make it fit. This applies to non-accessory items like body parts, brake parts, suspension parts, etc.

To make sure that the universal part will fit your car exactly, take note of your car’s specs carefully before making any modifications. Most of our products come with detailed, easy-to-follow instructions to help you make the necessary adjustments correctly.

Does this part come with everything I need? Or do I need to order other parts?

Whether a SKU includes auxiliary accessories depends on the manufacturer. With compressors, for example, some manufacturers include the A/C clutch in their compressor package, while others do not. For example, if you need an A/C compressor and clutch, search for a SKU that includes both. If you don’t find one for your particular make and model, then you will have to buy the component and the auxiliary accessories separately.

What tools do I need to install this part? Can I buy tools from this website?

Customers are encouraged to visit Auto MD, which provides how to guides as well as a list of tools required to complete a specific repair job. If you do not own one of the tools required for the job, our site has a section that includes different tools, which you can find here: From this selection, you can locate the specific tools you need for various tasks. But if you’re still unsure as to which tools can be used, you can always contact our Customer Service Representatives for assistance. You can reach them anytime through our toll-free number at 1-800-913-6119 or 1-801-214-2997 (then press 1) or through our Live Chat.

What is a SKU number? How do I know I’m getting the part I need for my vehicle? Why are there different names for the exact same part?

The SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) number, otherwise known as the part number, is an identifier used to specifically tag each product offered in the site. This number is a customer’s ticket to finding the exact item he/she is looking for. For instance, if one keys in TM515020 in the search bar, he/she will land on the page of the Timken Wheel Hub Assembly for the Ford Excursion ‘00-‘05.

There’s one SKU number assigned to each product. Search results that display different names for the same parts occur due to different names used by manufacturers. One manufacturer, for example, may label a product Axle Hub Assembly while another, Wheel Hub Assembly; but both names can actually pertain to the same part.

For further information, please log on to our Live Chat or call 1-800-913-6119 or 1-801-214-2997 (then press 1) where an agent will be readily available to assist you with your queries.

Are your parts pre-painted? What does "Primed" mean?

No. But all of our body/collision parts are coated with a protective treatment to protect the metal from corrosion and rust. There are two different references to a part being primed. Some are treated with a "primer", to protect from rust. A reference to using a primer is not the same as being "primed." Only if the description of the part says "primed", are the parts ready to be painted with minimal preparation. We do not offer pre-painted body/collision parts as it is not possible to color match without having access to your vehicle. We also have chrome plated items such as bumpers and mirrors. Please consult your body shop for installation and painting needs.

Are your parts new? Do you offer re-conditioned or recycled parts for sale?

We primarily deal with brand new parts. However, we also have some items that are reconditioned, namely, alternators, starters, brake calipers, etc. To help identify these items, we have added a Reconditioned or Remanufactured note to the part description.
